Cumberbirch Construction is a Cheshire-based building contractor, who have outsourced drawing work to me on numerous schemes going back to the early 2000s.
Where projects have demanded drawing support for minor modifications through to full design schemes, it is proving to be extremely efficient for companies to outsource work on either a task basis or if needed, a project basis.
Outsourcing directly to an Architectural Technologist cuts out the overhead costs of engaging an Architect’s practice to undertake the work. Generally, once an Architect’s practice is appointed to produce drawing packages, the working drawings will be handed to a Technologist anyway, but the fees will include for all the overheads of the practice.
Outsourcing the work on a task basis means that companies only pay for the drawing time taken to produce the work. All the work is then produced by someone who is accredited to a governing body, fully covered by PI and PL insurance policies, and has proven to be a very cost-effective approach, leading to many repeat projects.
